Summer is here, beautiful BC is stuffed full of tourists. Many of these visitors are geocachers. Nothing is more heartbreaking than looking at a map on geocaching.com where a tourist is visiting to find a number of disabled caches. Worse yet is arriving to a cache, not finding it and when reading past logs find that many previous finders had no success either.
You chose a great spot for your cache that you want to share with others - locals and visitors alike. Keep it well maintained. Is it off the beaten path? Maybe it is time to grab the kids or some friends for a cache maintenance road trip.
Showcase our province with pride, not with missing or moldy caches. Remember that if you are the owner of a cache in a BC Park that the new guidelines require you to visit your cache at least every 3 years to make sure all is in good order with both the cache and the surrounding area. This guideline applies to existing caches as well as new ones.
Pop by to check on all your caches and then post an "owner maintenance" log so cachers know all is well with your cache. full article
