The very popular Gold Country GeoTourism program is preparing to release another 72 caches hilighting the history and interesting places in Gold Country. This is exciting news for geocachers in BC. We will have much more information to come about the program and launch expected for sometime around the end of June as details become finalized.

In the meantime, here are some Invitations to Tender that may be of interest to geocachers living in Gold Country:

Kelly, you need to get out there and get some, you just went thru an area with some in the area(kamloops, logan lake, merrit, Coquihala)
I got my first 24 awhile back and recieved the very cool Gold Bar Geocoin. I am already working on my second set of 24!!!
Looking forward to the new batch of caches to come out!!!

Chris

Do we know if Gold Country is removing the existing 72 (or 73) caches?

I think I remember they were going to follow the Groundspeak guidelines of 3 years and remove.

I understood these were additional caches. The series is so popular I can't imagine that they would archive the original ones.

LordEd and I are working on our second 24. The best one we've been to so far was the one near Cabin Lake and the Mt. Stoyoma plane crash. Easier to access from Merritt instead of via mini whipsaw which is how we went. Lots of scratches on the Escape! You just need a higher clearance vehicle unless you want to walk in. There's a few places where the run off has taken away the road quite badly. And it's a Rec Site so it would count for the BC Rec Sites Challenge in Vernon Very Happy
