Swans of Lonesome Lake
Swans of Lonesome Lake:  [?] . You might remember a book called "The Caruso of Lonesome Lake" where Ralph Edwards saved the BC Trumpeter swans from extinction from the 1920's to the 1950s. It was almost required reading for our generation in elementry school in the 70s. Edwards cabin burnt down in the BC fires of 2004. [M | C

Half-Canadian's Seventh Annual Geocaching Halloween event is going to be so big this year, it couldn't be kept under wraps any longer! Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 22, for a full day of geocaching fun in Lynden, WA -- starting with a morning Meet 'n Greet and wrapping up with the gala GeoMonster Ball! With your help, we can push this event to the 500+ attendance needed for you to score the coveted MEGA event icon for your profile page!

Dust off your passports and make plans to head for the border -- Lynden is just five minutes south of the Aldergrove crossing. You may wish to take advantage of the strong Canadian dollar and make a weekend out of it -- a 48 hour stay in the US will allow you to return home with $400.00 per person free of HST and duties, a cheap tank of gas and a trunk full of bargain-priced groceries, too!

Here's the event page link -- be sure to log your "will attend" plans so we can start planning for this MEGA-sized event: GC2VNQA GeoMonster Ball

This event is too big to fit on one cache page, so be sure to check out the website and pre-register too:
geomonsterball.com

-- The first 100 paid registrations will score a free event pathtag when they check in and sign the logbook the morning of the event!   full article.
