When we were caching a week ago and found 'The Land of the Living Cacher' someone had forgotten their very expensive high tech device beside that cache. We took it with us in hopes that the owner of said device would surely want to have it back and we could do the right thing. We have posted a note on the cache page and a note to the CO but so far no response. This is the second time we have tried to get an item back to its owner...the first time HM and PD can back us up on our efforts to be honest.

Paying over $500 for an item should make that item rather important, yes? Thus far all our efforts to find the owner of said item have been for naught.
We are feeling like we have stolen something. The CO where we found the item has not returned any of our emails, even to say that the item was not theirs. This is not a brave new world. *sigh*

Donate the device to the BCGA to use with their programs and then it's out of your hands. If and when the owner decides to speak up then they can contact the BCGA to reclaim it - problem solved!
