They are like trophy's (ps3), achievements (xbox360), or badges (wii). Its just an icon to collect the same way that people collect geocoin icons.

Rumour has it that if you hit a cache on 10-10-10 there will be a souvenir added to your profile......

Got my 10-10-10 souvenir today by logging an event as attended on my iPhone.

This was a new one for us too as we had no idea what Souvenirs were all about. I saw the message after we found 'Cabinet Ringer' today and thought maybe we had won the lottery. LOL But hey...a freebee Icon is good, yes? Hopefully Souvenirs is not just another sneaky trick by Commie forces.

I like the idea, and posted a thread on gs asking how we can submit on for our area.

I sure like the idea of collecting souvenirs that don't take up space in the house. Mr Co certainly agrees as he thinks I have WAAAY too many of the physical ones!

I still find the souvenirs a little confusing. I did a cache on 10-10-10 with Limitedpotential and we both got a souvenir. On our way back to the car she searched on her iPhone for another cache that was near by, and that I had already found. She was immediately given a souvenir for Groundspeak Headquarters, yet she has never been close to the place and she hadn't found the new cache yet.

Very confusing.

Has anyone see how to have one for your area?? It would be fun to have regional ones or special event ones.
