It seemed like there was a Flashmob every few months last year. Have they been banned or were they just a fad?

My understanding is that FlashMob's happen whenever PodCacher decides to have one. The next one is on Saturday, November 14th at 10am PST Smile

We hosted in Port Alberni, and enjoyed it. Looking for another place to go for the next one.

We had a GREAT time at the Port Alberni WWFM. We combined it with a camping trip and did lots of caching. It was fun to meet all the local cachers and put a face to a name.
Can't wait for the next FM event Very Happy

Podcacher announces them twice a year, but with multiple locations, it may seem like more. The fall one is usually a bit lower key, and they really push the spring one. RC Traveller is bang on for the date for WWFM6.

Coolio - we've never really cached there, so looking forward to it!

PS as a former hoster, it's good to get the date, time and place out there quick, so that people know, and then work on other details as the date draws near. We also appealed to our local caching group, and they responded in droves to help!

I see a local event has now been posted to be held in Duncan but I'm confused about the time. The Flash Mobs are supposed to be at 10am PST are they not? This event (GC1YPKJ) is set for 9am.

It's not an absolute rule, since they are held worldwide, but they usually are. Maybe drop them a line and ask wassup?
