I prefer to see the name of a cache on my GPS rather than the GC code.
When I download the cache info from GSAK to my GPS, I get the name. When I use the button 'Send to GPS' on the cache page is get the GC code.
Anyone know how to 'fix' that?
To add to this: we also have a NUVI 760 now. Not to sure yet how happy we are with it, but...
When we download the cache info from GSAK on my wife's computer, we get names. When she uses 'Send to GPS' she get GC. When we do it from mine, from GSAK, we get GC codes. When I use 'Send to GPS' I get GC. Are you still with me?
As far as I can tell we both have the same macros although I don't know a lot about them...
Does anyone have this same 'problem'?
Does anyone know how to 'solve' it?
Thanks.

What GPS do you use?
for my Lowrance i can set what is displayed by:
going to File -> export -> Lowrance USR...
when the screen opens uncheck the box that says Use defaults
Under waypoint name mine is set to:
%code %Name %typ %con (%Dif/%Ter)
just remove the %code attribute and make sure you have %Name in it's place.
I just looked at a few other of the export options they all seem to have a similar option.

Hope that helps

note this applies to the latest version of GSAK if you havn't already I suggest updating it's a free upgrade

There is a setting in GSAK that you can change and send the name, GC # or even the difficulty and terrain to be displayed on you gps. I used it when I was using my Garmin.

Thanks to both of you who replied. I managed to get it to work through GSAK for both Garmins on both computers. Sending straight from the cache page still does not work, but that's probably why we have GSAK, right?
