I had a geocacher email me this week to let me know about a cache I have that is in dire need of attention. They were searching for a cache of mine and found a bit of water in it so they dried it out for me. Then they were off to the next cache on their list another one of mine. When they found the cache it appeared to be full of water as well. To their horrible dismay it was not full of water but human urine. It appears some looser took the time to open the lock and lock and pee into it filling it to the rim. They then took the time to close the lid and placed it back for these poor geocachers to find. What kind of idiot thinks something like this up. Man I hate muggles Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad

I just found out that the Jamaccan beads I have been putting in my caches do not like to get wet. They are made of natural seeds and beans and stuff. Wow, when we opened the cache it truly smelled of skunk. No more of that for me.

When we were living in Ontario another fellow cacher found a dead human body close to a cache. I don't think it gets any worse than that. He posted about it on the groundspeak forums at the time.

We personally have found a cache next to a rotting coyote. The smell was terrible and we almost puked. That didn't stop us from signing the logbook though.

Worse thing we found inside a cache was in Ontario where the entire cache container was full of earwigs. From that point on we almost always wear nitrite gloves when caching. We noticed worldcaching recently started selling these gloves.

EastCoastNotWestCoast (formerly EastCoastNOWWestCoast) and my family were caching in the Bridal Falls area and found a really crappy cache. Full to the brim with it, in fact. We paused for a moment wondering about how to sign the log book, but decided it wasn't worth it. I think I would have preferred the urine cache.

Two yuck stories- a deer body dismembered and smelly and then just recently we were searching for a very hard cache- some nasty difficulty rating in a mossy tree. In the crook of the tree was a bag which I opened and proceeded to toss as far as I could. It was full of wild animal entrails - YUCK !
Yes we did find the hide and yes I did have my gloves on !
