Swans of Lonesome Lake
Swans of Lonesome Lake:  [?] . You might remember a book called "The Caruso of Lonesome Lake" where Ralph Edwards saved the BC Trumpeter swans from extinction from the 1920's to the 1950s. It was almost required reading for our generation in elementry school in the 70s. Edwards cabin burnt down in the BC fires of 2004. [M | C

I am not sure if anyone else is having the issue but I have tried to access the BCGA website using Safari 3.1 on a Mac and I get an "Unknown User-Agent" error and can not access the page. Seems to work fine with Firefox but Safari will not work. Anyone know a work around??

arghh. this freaking software is not obvios how to update. It uses a pile of regular expressions and pattern matching to check agents, and REGEX is not my bag. If I see somewhere an update for the security.php module I'll try to update our code.

CB...

Chips from Vancouver Island has posted this on VIGPS...

"For the past several days I have received the following message when I visit the website:
"UNKNOWN USER AGENT
You are banned from this site due to a unknown user-agent"

I use a Macintosh with the Mac native browser 'Safari.' Is it me? (lol) or could it be some change in the BCGA site? or ??? I would like to be able to view the BCGA site again".

Is this 'issue' still an 'issue'? What should I tell him (via VIGPS).
Thank you,
Helen

I did put an update in, that was supposed to support some safari (and other) browsers, but since I use a real computer I can't test it... Yes, that was a joke before the Mac Lovers start spamming me!

Looks like it is still not working for Safari.

By the way ... to help those with PCs Apple is now offering Safari for Windows. I think they may have included a couple of bugs and viruses to make people feel at home Smile (Had to send a joke back.) t

Thanks for working on this. At least Firefox works.

I have read in some places that it actually may be a bug in Safari. Unfortunatly I can not fix it, the module that does the checking has not been updated, and the code that does it is just asking to be broken if I mess with it, way too complex for what it has to do.

So for the few people that use it, they will just have to visit us in another browser.

I had posted a comment on the VIGPS forum about my trouble trying to access the BCGA site.

I have found a solution and have posted the information on the thread vigps.com/phpBB2/viewt...php?t=1059

Take care,
chips
