We placed a cache today for the blitz 08 in our area (Kelowna)
I am confused about one thing, the rest I think (hope) I did right!
The cache gets posted obviously at bcgeocaching.com Does it also get posted at the geocaching.com site, and if so, at the same time?
It is available for all and any to find from day one at either site from the time it gets approved? Hope this wasn't confusing. Hope someone knows what I am asking and can straighten me out here. Thanks Very Happy

I think I get what you mean. You placed a cache and are now waiting for it to be approved by Groundspeak (geocaching.com). Now once it is approved and if you put something like Blitz 08 or B08 as part of the name, it will be part of the BCGA Blitz. I do believe Canadian Bacon looks for all new Blitz caches and adds them to the list and bookmarks them all. Did you place the Blitz voting box on your cache page?

When you're submitting a geocache, you're submitting it to geocaching.com. You are expected to comply with all geocaching.com rules. Geocaching.com is the one approving your cache.

When you put B08: in the front of the cache, the BCGA knows that you're also submitting it for the Blitz. This way the computer picks your cache up through a search and adds it to our system.

The cache will be available on geocaching.com. It will also be available for the Blitz. After the blitz you can edit your cache by taking off the B08 and the voting links. They will not be needed after that.

Thanks for placing a cache for the Blitz. Good luck. I hope you show up at a local event on May 10th or 11th (depending on your area). Events are posted on geocaching.com

If you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask. This is what we're here for.

Yes I did put the vote box on, well I'm hoping I did it correctly anyway.

Canadian Bacon is the brain behind this website. He is the reason it runs as well as it does. Yes Scruffster you do a good job too. And I won't forgot to mention the Turbos and the niffy little programs that they make.

Kudo's to all of you that help put this together! I just can't even hardly remember what life was like before I discovered geo-caching, and that was only one year ago lol

Life before Geocaching? Now there is something. Sit back and think about all the neat place you have been because of caching. Caching has most likely open up places where you would never have gone otherwise. Almost every cacher has a great story to tell from finding a cache. Hmm... this gives me an idea. Very Happy
