I have a fully working 17" CRT monitor, available to a good home ;).
If no takers, off to the Electonics Recycling Depot!

Actually, I'm still looking for a printer. Perhaps the Boxing Day elf will be good to me.

I just threw out 2 inkjets last week, one Epson, one HP, the HP still worked, but I found you can get a new printer, with cartridges cheaper than buying cartridges for the old printers.

Hi there

Have you guys heard of Freecycle? There is a huge group in Vancouver
HereVancouver freecycle

Here is what it is all about
"It's a list for people who want to get rid of items without having to throw them away. Want to get rid of that thing that's getting in your way, whether it's a coffee cup, a colander, a quilt, or a calico couch?
Post an offer here on this Freecycle(TM) group and find it a good home. Also, of course, this is the place to look to pick up something nice for free.

The only catch is, all offers must be *absolutely* free."

I'm the Moderator of the Comox valley group.

If you have any Ques. Please let me know

Tom

hmm... now where would be a good cache for a 17" Monitor...

What I would need is:
a) a brand new laptop
b) a colour laser printer/scanner/FAX

BTW: you can get your cartridges refilled for $16...

Of course today my laser is warning me that it's toner is low.
So where does one get a cartridge refilled for $16?

oooh... laser-toner? not sure if they refill those...

they are called "Island Inkjet" and are to be found in Malls (so far I know for Victoria [where the company started out from] and the lower mainland, but I'm not sure if they have branches in other parts of BC)

They do not refill most laser cartrigdes yet but will frequently have knock offs at slightly lower rate than the brand name stuff.

Just as a followup. The monitor was adopted. And I found a drum refill for my lazer. Funny that a 5000 sheet cartridege was $100 and a 20,000 sheet Drum was $125!!!! That should last me 4-5 years! I guess the toner is cheap cheap, and I paid $25 more for the plastic casing holding it.
