All 42 Blitz caches published to date are now in. Don't ask me what we had to do to get them in. Will keep an eye on new ones to make sure they are updated within 24 hours of being published.

Now - go get them!
Great! Thanks for looking into it. So far on the south island, there are just my 2 caches and my mother's one, so I don't have much to search for yet! Hopefully others are just putting the final touches on theirs.

@scruffster: Good info about the way the scraping works, but I don't think that's what was excluding mine. I had made the "Placed" date May 14, so they should have been among the youngest caches.

It seems that (today anyway) the problem was with Groundspeak. The PQs that were placed fairly early in the morning did not get processed until 4:30 PM. I was able to get one through my own account then upload it through the FTP site. No idea why it only affected some accounts.

Yes, our premium membership with Groundspeak is up to date.

Love the Blitz and plan a couple....

This is for the best of the best caches to come out....should there not be a minimal score to qualify for a win. Just the same as not enough votes and your cache does not qualify.

my two cents....

I found my first Blitz cache today and tried to vote for it but I can't find it on either of the lists (yours or the Geocaching.com bookmark list.) It's B12: Fallen GC3CK5Q. Am I missing something here???

Weird ... That is correct - I heard another person say it was not available in the list, but it was within the first day of it being published and figured it took a day to get into the system, but this one has been out for a few weeks now.

Any ideas from board members here what happened?

The other B12 caches I have out I did the same and they appear to be okay.

The cache page shows that it was hidden in Feb. Our PQ that searches out the Blitz caches does not go that far back. If you change the placed date then it should be picked up.

Unfortunately we can not add a cache manually due to recent restrictions placed by Groundspeak for people harvesting data from their site.

Hope that answers the question and solves the mystery.

Thanks placed that one back then and had to get city of Surrey approval and by the time I put it all together - the blitz was upon us so I decided to put it out for then. Funny how time flies when your placing and putting cache pages together Shifty

I expect that it will be available on the vote list shortly - correct?

Glad you checked all your Blitz caches. I have just finished adding 4 of your Blitz caches to the voting system!

I was wondering why I hadn't seen too many entries from you Smile

**The hide period is now over**

Wow - 220 Blitz caches were published by midnight last night in all areas of the province! Great job to all the hiders.

Now is the fun part - find those extra special Blitz caches! Make sure you vote. Giving a favourite point to a Blitz cache is nice, but it doesn't count for the Blitz voting results.

Remember that each vote you cast gets an entry into a prize draw. But you have to have found a Blitz cache in order to vote for it.

So go get them!

What time zone was the voting based on please? Very Happy

From the rules...
The voting period will run until midnight on August 6th.

There is still 2 hours to go but the voting says its closed. lol
