Sanyo Eneloops - $14.89 for 4 x AA, 2 x AAA and the charger. Cheaper than costco.

Does anyone have recent experience with these Eneloop batteries? I did some research and thought they sounded like a great thing so bought 16 from Amazon. Problem is they won't recharge. I've tried two of my Energizer NimH chargers with no luck then went and bought a Sanyo one specifically for Eneloops and same problem (leaving for overnight charge). Whenever I test them or put them into the gps they read as 1/3 charged.

Make sure your gps is set to expect NIMH batteries as they are 1.2v not 1.5v like an akaline. They will naturally show lower on the battery meter if it is set for akaline.

Ive got 18 or so of them, have no trouble in any of our garmin's (60cx, 62s & orgeon 200). We have done as Savant9 has already suggested & set the battery type correctly.

I also use these in my flash for my SLR - a Nikon SB-600 which eats AA batteries like candy. The eneloops do just as well as any of the single use batteries ive bought.

Maybe youve got a bum charger?
