The Remembrance Day 2011 geocoin samples have arrived!

The front of the coin lists all the major battles in which the Canadian Corps took part during the First World War. In the centre is a reproduction of the maple leaf that is carved onto every Canadian War Grave in Europe.

The back is a reproduction of a photo showing Canadian troops in the trenches of the Western Front. Around this are the last lines of "In Flanders Fields" by LtCol John McCrae.

"If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields."

I will be offering 5 different versions. They will all be available individually or (for slightly cheaper) as a set of 5.

These coins can be ordered at phdcoins.ca

The pre-sale is underway and will end Tuesday, September 27th. The expected delivery date would be the last week of October.

Here are the different versions:

Antique Copper

Antique Bronze

Antique Silver

LE Black Nickel/Antique Gold

LE Gold/Antique Silver
