As the subject line says. Anyone here know who and how to contact BC Parks for permission for an earthcache in one of their provincial parks?

On the BCGA site on the left hand side under BC Parks. Copy and send to Geoware. We just sent him a copy last week and the approval came back within a couple of minutes.

I'm sorry, I do not see any link to BC Parks on the left-hand side of the site, not under Waypoints menu or any others.

It's under the heading policies and guidelines. Here is a direct link. www.bcgeocaching.com/p...Policy.pdf

I don't think an earthcache would require permission regardless because there is no physical container (assuming marked at a normally traveled location, public, etc).

One would think that, uyet with an earthcache you must supply proof of permission.

Sorry for the belated response from us - we've been all over the map in the past month - from PEI to Ontario!

BC Parks likes EarthCaches very much and so long as you send Geoaware a copy of the BC Parks Geocaching Policy you should be fine. If you run into any problems please let us/me know and we'll get it in writing from the Director of Marketing at BC Parks. I don't want to go asking for this though if Geoaware will be fine with their policy, which they should. It doesn't specifically state EarthCaches are welcome but it does say that caches that meet their park use guidelines are welcome. EarthCaches certainly meet this even more than a container because they are in line with BC Parks' own goals which include education.
