Someone has been going around the Central Okanagan and stealing and or destroying caches. Kerry&Shannon have had two ammo cans stolen and at our event several people have reported their containers are missing. Such a shame that people have to resort to stupidity to amuse themselves. I'm even considering making any new caches I publish Premium Member caches to help, but that takes it away from the people who don't want to pay. It's just really frustrating. Have any of you had this happen and what can you do (if anything) about it?

Are the caches in one area? Okanagan wide? Multiple hiders? One or two hiders?

So far West Kelowna and Kelowna have had quite a few incidents that we know of. As anakerose said, 2 of our unique caches have been Muggled. One was left with a very nasty note in the log book after they stole the ammo can and left the contents. As I keep reading different cache listings, I'm noticing quite a few that have had the exact same thing happen to them. Ammo can swiped while contents remain in a large Ziplock bag provided by the thief. So someone is determined to ruin our fun or just to collect as many ammo cans as they can. I noticed that when you make a cache listing a premium member only, It logs everyone who views the listing, not just logged visits. So if you notice a Noob that hasn't logged any finds but is actively looking at caches with ammo cans right before they are swiped, send me a message. Thanks all.

Sad...

I've had the same happen on multiple occasions and have now resorted to ONLY using recycled consumer containers, usually with a little camo tape applied.

I believe mine in Armstrong was taken. There was a particular cacher that was targeted at one point.

There was a particular cacher that was targeted at one point. They have caches from Armstrong down to Vernon area.
