In planning my families visit to some of the Olympic Sites I cam across this great map by a local reporter:
2010 Google Map

I also converted many of the entries to a GPX file so you can load it into your GPS Receivers.
2010 GPX File (right mouse, save as)

Hope this is useful to some people. The 'Houses' and pavilions are spread out all over, and I wanted an easy way to navigate to them when downtown. full article.

Please note that not all 'Houses' are open to the public. Please plan ahead.

Added location of Cauldron near Convention Center and fixed WP names.

Used my GPS coords yesterday. Ones around Science world, Concord and Vancouver Live Site were good. Royal mint was 2 blocks off. (It's on Granville & Pender). Wish we got to see more, but it was soooooo busy! Had fun though.

I'm planning a trip from the Island for a day and this gpx file will be fabulous to have loaded up. I lived in N. Van and Bby for years, but things have changed a bit since then Shocked ! Thanks so much for making this available.

I corrected the location of the Royal Canadian Mint Pavilion.

Amy and I used this file yesterday and it was FABULOUS! Thank you so much for making this available - we highly recommend it. Our family is going over in dribs and drabs and we're going to send each of them with a GPS with this file loaded so they have it handy.

Has anybody tried bringing a GPSr through security into a venue?

They've been a little strange about innocent things with the venues we've been through to so far, i'm kinda reluctant to bring it - and so far haven't been downtown without the intent to attend an event.

Yes, and there was no problem.

My experience at LiveCity Yaletown was very similar to airport security. I emptied all my pockets of electronics, coins, keys etc. and put it into a tray. My electronics items included my GPS and 2 cell phones. The tray went through a scanner and I walked through the people scanner.

It was actually faster than the airport and no problems.

The only problem was that the people behind me were not allowed to bring in their Starbucks coffee into the venue.

Thanks Geodug

That's pretty much been the process with the venues we've been to so far (Cypress, GM place & BC place) but, i've also seen/heard them being weird about a number of non-prohibited items - the last thing I want is to be faced with a decision to abandon my tickets or my GPSr.

Thanks for this, CB. It came in very handy today wandering around with my kids.
