Reservations made in the Hilton July 1 to July 5. Now to do the same for Princeton for August for Copper Rush.

Looks like it will be a bit of a drive out to the farm - the same as in Wheatland at GWVI.

It will be a shorter drive than Sacramento, so ready for July already.

Will anyone be able to arrange for a visit to Geocaching.com headquarters???

Yes. The Lackeys at Groundspeak HQ are expecting a lot of visitors and plans are in the works to handle the volume of traffic expected during the days surrounding GWVIII.

Stay tuned to the GWVII event listing and read your weekly e-mail because I'm sure they're going to post the specific details closer to the time.

Party Hat Next year is also the 10th anniversary of Geocaching which is another reason that the GW event is being held so close to GSHQ and the Original Stash in 2010.

Has anyone else made any accommodation bookings? We're looking at booking ours soon and would rather be somewhere that other BC cachers are, rather than on our own! Smile

I was thinking 72 plus hours with no sleep and caching 24/7... but that maybe asking too much from my body. LOL

I'm still un-decided on attendance. Might just make a day trip, as I'm not so cache hungry I need to spend that much money to stay overnight, got plenty I could do in my back-yard so to speak.

For me it's a caching/shopping/excuse for a weekend away. Mom is tagging along and while she is a trooper, and if she actually logged her caches she would probably have almost 200, it won't be a marathon when it comes to caching... It might be for the shopping though!!!

I'm carefully considering it. It would take us about a day to get there, and another to get back, so no small feat with little kids. As much as I'd love to log that icon and also do the "triad", I'm wondering if a quieter time wouldn't be better to do that. Like, visiting the Project APE cache. But I can't deny the whole thing will be fun... perhaps when the weather improves and our family is back to doing more caching we'll catch the bug...

To: Phatbenny
I live near the Aldergrove Border. Getting a ride down shouldn't be a problem for you. I would think just about everyone that loves caching will make an effort to make it to this MEGA event seeing as it is so close. BUT you might be better off finding someone from the Island. I'm not willing to take the long way..LOL ( Lightbulb check the Island forums or post a request there)

The BCGA will have a booth at Geowoodstock. We would like people to volunteer to man the booth on the Saturday (so we can have some fun during the day as well). Please email me if you would be able to spare a 1/2 hour to an hour during the day. Let me know what time slot you would like.

We would also like your input into what we should have at the booth.

Thanks!

I cant help phatbenny - the island's a touch out of range for an acceptable side-trip, but, i'm thinking hard about making a (long) day trip out of it & heading down from Surrey.

I don't think the wife & kidlet would be interested (but you never know) & don't really want to go alone, anyone else thinking about daytripping ? Want to go together?
