Hey guys, just spitballing here, so be kind.

What would it take for BCGA to be a back up site for the BC caches listed on geocaching.com? With GS outages becoming more frequent, and an apparent lack of a good back up strategy, could we be the back up source for BC cachers to go to when GS is having problems?

I know nothing of the intricasies of setting this up, and if it's way out of our jurisdiction and capacity, that's totally fine. I'm just putting the thought out there to see what you think.

We can only give general information on caches from groundspeak, and have to re-direct users to groundspeak for any cache details. Terms of use issues etc. I have talked directly to their lawyer about what we can and can not do last year.

Bigger efforts have been tried, and more or less failed on a competing service, I personally like to have some free time outside of my 9-5 job, and put food on the table. Wink

I was guessing that it would be a big job, and certainly am not expecting it. This site is extremely helpful already, and I would never suggest that it's volunteers should be doing more.
