BCGAs 2009 Geocoin
How do you beat BCGA's 2008 geocoin? To produce an even better coin, you need to have a new concept, one that is new but also uniquely British Columbian. You have to have a team who is willing work through the tasks, you have to find an artist who can do the careful design work, then you have to ensure that your supplier can deliver the quality and service. It took a while, but BCGA has produced its best ever geocoin.

The main theme of the coin is the Raven. In the stories of the First Nations people of B.C., Raven is the trickster, the prankster, the transformer, the meddler who can create either helpful or harmful circumstances. First Nations artist Quenton Harris uses the Raven, human eyes, and a metamorphosis of Raven transforming into Man. When geocaching was explained to Quenton, he saw the quest for the cache as a pursuit towards enlightenment, a quest to solve the mysteries presented. The find was a kind of transformation as the cacher is taken to new places and attains new knowledge.   full article.

What an aesome looking coin! I really like the black one. Where are the tracking codes found? When do you expect the coin to be released?

Once the coins are ready to be shipped, the activation codes are availble on the site. Look for "coin activation" on the top right hand side of the home page, and in the Waypoints menu.

We expect the coins to ship near the end of July.

The online order form give the shipping option: Pickup in Maple Ridge or Victoria.

Where in Victoria would we be picking them up and how will we know when they've arrived?

The coin orders for which Victoria are selected will be sent to Chris Edley. Arrangements can be made with Chris as to how pickup can be made.
