British Columbia Geocachers Association Minutes
March 09, 2010

Opening:
The meeting of the BCGA was called to order at 6:03 pm on March 08, 2010 on Skype call.

Present:
Ted Nash, Ginger Houser, Kelly Contant, Andrew Toms, Irene Pickell, Sharon Cross, Tom Furlotte

Open Issues

Cacher suspension – Further discussion (per March 7th meeting)

A meeting was called to further discuss the BCGA decision to suspend a cacher.

“It was discussed whether our decision went against what is currently written in the Bylaws. As there is nothing written in our current Bylaws on how to precede with a “temporary suspension” it was agreed that as a Board we had not contravened anything within the current Bylaws, and that further discussion was would be required.”

It was agreed after much discussion that due process was not issued to the cacher the complaints were made against, or that a full investigation of the complaints had not been done.

A motion was brought forward by Ted to do the following: Issue a retraction letter and to immediately lift the suspension and reinstate membership and forum access. Irene / Andrew second the motion. The decision was unanimous by all present.

It was agreed that an email be sent immediately and that a formal written apology be delivered to the cacher and a copy sent be sent to any other parties directly involved.

Adjournment:
There being no further business, meeting was adjourned at7:08 pm by Ted Nash.

Minutes submitted by: Sharon Cross (Secretary)
Approved by: Ted Nash (President)
